Picnik Offers Free Web Based Photo Software

Picnik Creation By Craig ONeal

If you’re looking to enhance or be a bit more creative with your photos, look no further than the free 1.0 version of Picnik on the web at www.picnik.com

Picnik software offers some neat options that includes frames, effect painting, rotations, and the ability to upload photos from either your computer, flickr, picasa, or facebook accounts then re-save your newly created photos (back again) to these photo sharing sites, or your computer.

While their beta test version was released months ago and most of the bugs have been worked out, they recently launch a “Premium” package for $24.95 a year that offers even more advance features for the serious photo buffs. Right now both the basic and premium versions are being offered at no cost, so get on line (hurry-up) and check it out.

I have played around quite a bit with this software and to be truthful, I really like it!  From the hip-hop language to the “undo” button (so you don’t have to start all over because you messed up), it’s so easy to create cool effects with great directions, making Picnik a good alternative for the photo hobbyist.

This Leopard photo from the zoo was my latest “picnik” creation.

Happy shooting.

Craig
