Sign your child up TODAY for this unique summer camp experience that allows direct access to the expertise and prestige of one of the nation's leading art colleges-the Savannah College of Art and Design. SCAD Art Camp offers an enjoyable and educational adventure for young people. Campers benefit from a compelling core curriculum designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the arts. Professional cooks will teach your young chef how to create gourmet meals like handmade ravioli with cheesy filling and marinara sauce, scrumptious steamed lemon soufflé, crispy chicken with savory sauce, and summertime pink lemonade pie. For each week of this fun camp, A. Chef’s Cooking Studio staff will teach area youth a different mouthwatering menu of delicacies that will be prepared and consumed by your culinary ace. Food critics (otherwise known as parents) are invited to visit on Friday to enjoy a taste testing and culinary celebration. Choose all three weeks of camp or just try one. According to Marguerite Mumford, the Adopt-A-Road Program encourages businesses, industry, civic, youth and nonprofit organizations to adopt an area of roadway in their communities. "We selected about a mile of roadway on Hodges Blvd. and Hunt Club Road near Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville. The area has a mix of residential and commercial properties along the roadway and we look forward to helping the City of Jacksonville with monthly litter collection and other beautification activities," said Marguerite Mumford. Beach United Methodist Church will host a special evening of music & drama to benefit Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church. The downtown Jacksonville church was ravaged by a fire in the early morning hours of December 23, 2007. This special benefit is scheduled for Saturday evening, June 14th at 6:00pm and will be held in the Methodist church’s Family Life Center auditorium, located at 325 7th Avenue No. in Jacksonville Beach. Entertainment will be provided by the touring worship team known as “Sold Out”. The cast of “Sold Out” is made up of forty students and young adults representing nine different Duval & St. Saturday, June 7, 2008

The downtown Jacksonville church was ravaged by a fire in the early morning hours of December 23, 2007. This special benefit is scheduled for Saturday evening, June 14th at 6:00pm and will be held in the Methodist church’s Family Life Center auditorium, located at 325 7th Avenue No. in Jacksonville Beach. Entertainment will be provided by the touring worship team known as “Sold Out”.
